Ryan Group, Rotary Launch 1M Tree Drive
On July 1, 2026, in New Delhi, the Ryan Group of Institutions marked a milestone in its partnership with Rotary International as Mr. Ravishankar Dakoju assumed the role of District Governor 3192 of Rotary International. The occasion was used to flag off a year‑long “1 Million Tree Plantation Drive”, a sustainability initiative that will run throughout the academic year 2026‑27.
The drive was ceremonially launched from NMKRV College in Bengaluru and will be simultaneously implemented across Ryan campuses in Hyderabad, Pune, Jaipur, Mumbai, Delhi, Surat, Bolpur (West Bengal), Kochi and Chennai. The programme aims to plant, nurture and monitor one million saplings across the country, with the target of completing the planting before June 2027.
In addition to the flagship plantation programme, the Ryan‑Rotary partnership outlined three further initiatives: “Water for the Voiceless”, which will provide water access for animals; the establishment of Interact Clubs to develop service‑oriented student leaders; and an effort to expand support for tribal schools.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Ryan Pinto, CEO of Ryan Group of Institutions, recalled the founding belief of Dr. A.F. Pinto that education must extend beyond the classroom into community service, and praised Mr. Dakoju’s lifelong commitment to giving back. Mr. Dakoju highlighted that the collaboration aligns with both organisations’ vision of creating meaningful community impact and demonstrates how collective action can drive sustainable change among young minds.
The press release notes that the initiative reflects the shared values of “service above self”, community responsibility and a commitment to a greener future for the next generation.
