Samsung launches Galaxy S26 FE with price hike
Samsung Electronics Co. announced the launch of its Galaxy S26 FE on Thursday, pricing the handset at $700, which represents a $50 increase over the previous generation. The device will be offered through select carrier partners starting 3 September, with direct sales from Samsung and other retailers commencing on 4 September.
The S26 FE is powered by a MediaTek processor, replacing the Qualcomm silicon used in the standard S26 models, and is equipped with 12 GB of memory. It features a 6.7‑inch display with a 120 Hz refresh rate, and a 4,900 mAh battery capable of reaching approximately 69 % charge in about 30 minutes when paired with a 45 W charger.
Running One UI 9 based on Android 17, the S26 FE is the first Samsung device to ship with the latest software version, while the S26, S26 Plus and S26 Ultra continue to operate on One UI 8.5 as they beta‑test the newer interface.
The handset is available in three colour options—Graphite, Pistachio and Blueberry—and incorporates an aluminium alloy frame, Gorilla Glass Victus+ protection and an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance. Compared with Samsung’s higher‑end models, the S26 FE offers fewer on‑device artificial‑intelligence features and a camera system that delivers lower image quality.
