Overview

On September 11, 2026, SBI Life Insurance, in partnership with the Paralympic Committee of India (PCI), held a felicitation ceremony in New Delhi to honour the Indian para‑athletes who secured seven medals – three gold, two silver and two bronze – at the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games. The ceremony was led by Mr. Amit Jhingran, MD & CEO of SBI Life, and Mr. Devendra Jhajharia, President of PCI.

Medalists Recognised

The athletes receiving the honours were:

  • Sharmila Dhankar – Gold in Women’s Shot Put F57
  • Dilip Mahadu Gavit – Gold in Men’s 100 m T47
  • Soman Rana – Gold in Men’s Shot Put F57
  • Mohammed Basil Morssinganakath – Silver in Men’s 100 m T47
  • Shubham Juyal – Silver in Men’s Shot Put F57
  • Shilpa Shyla – Bronze in Women’s Shot Put F57
  • Jhandu Kumar – Bronze in Men’s Heavyweight Para Powerlifting

SBI Life announced that it will sustain its association with PCI as the Indian contingent prepares for the Aichi‑Nagoya 2026 Asian Para Games, continuing to support the para‑sporting ecosystem.
