Overview

Schneider Electric Infrastructure Limited (SEIL), the Indian manufacturing arm of global energy‑technology leader Schneider Electric, was honoured with two 2026 awards: the Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Excellence in Sustainability Award in the Manufacturing Corporate category at the 4th Annual Sustainability Symposium & Excellence Awards, and the Golden Peacock Award for Excellence in Corporate Governance. The ICC award recognised SEIL’s performance across carbon management, circularity, biodiversity, water stewardship, social development and governance, while the Golden Peacock award highlighted the company’s transparency, accountability, ethical practices and responsible decision‑making.

Sustainability Achievements

SEIL has achieved 100% renewable electricity across all its manufacturing facilities, combining on‑site renewable generation with Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs). Targeted energy‑efficiency interventions—including load optimisation, power‑factor enhancement, occupancy‑based controls and advanced energy monitoring—have delivered an approximately 80% reduction in Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse‑gas emissions over the past three years.

Extended Initiatives

Beyond its own operations, SEIL is driving the Zero Carbon Project to help its suppliers lower their carbon footprints, and is promoting the adoption of SF₆‑free technologies such as pure‑air and vacuum insulation to curb high‑impact emissions throughout the electrical ecosystem.

Leadership Commentary

Mr. Udai Singh, Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer of Schneider Electric Infrastructure Ltd, stated that “Sustainability and governance are not separate priorities for us. They are embedded in how we operate, make decisions and create value. These recognitions validate the progress we have made in integrating sustainability and governance into the core of our business. As India accelerates its energy transition, we remain committed to delivering solutions that help customers decarbonise while creating long‑term value responsibly.”
