SDHI signed a contract with Energy ONE Limited to build four 92,500 DWT dual-fuel ammonia bulk carriers, marking India's first such order.
The order is classified in Category 4, indicating a value between ₹1,501 crore and ₹3,000 crore, with first vessel delivery scheduled for October 2029.
The vessels will be designed by KMS-EMEC and classed by DNV, representing a significant advancement in India's green shipbuilding capabilities.
The client, Energy ONE Limited, is part of New Energy One, a fund with a $2 billion capital investment program for zero-emission ships.
