ServiceNow Announces AI Workflow Factory and Autonomous Engineer
On 6 October 2026, at the World Forum Mumbai, ServiceNow (NYSE: NOW) introduced two new solutions – AI Workflow Factory and Autonomous Engineer – designed to create a continuous, agentic AI‑powered loop for workflow improvement across enterprises. The AI Workflow Factory discovers where AI can add value, builds and runs AI‑enhanced workflows, and extends them enterprise‑wide, while the Autonomous Engineer provides unattended coding capabilities for autonomous planning, building, and testing of implementation work.
The platform integrates three core components:
- Process Mining, which identifies business processes ripe for change and ties them to unit KPIs;
- Autonomous Engineer and Build Agent, which assists teams in constructing new workflow improvements and ensures quality control;
- App Engine, which safely runs the improved workflows at scale.
A practical use case cited is increasing case‑deflection by 20% across multiple business units. Traditionally, such an initiative would require a mature case‑deflection team, a pilot in one unit, and a staggered rollout. With AI Workflow Factory, process mining first pinpoints deflection opportunities, the factory then builds the workflows, and AI agents deploy them simultaneously across units, continuously refining outcomes against the predefined target while remaining within guardrails set in the AI Control Tower.
Governance is central to the offering. The AI Control Tower oversees workflow decisions and agent actions, providing resilience, auditability, and oversight for regulated sectors such as BFSI and telecommunications. ServiceNow’s Indian data centres support these requirements.
India’s partner ecosystem is poised to adopt the new capabilities. Accenture’s Bhaskar Babu, Business Group India lead, emphasized that the solution connects AI agents, enterprise knowledge, and workflows under human direction and governance. Infosys EVP and Co‑Head Anant Adya highlighted that, together with Infosys Topaz and Infosys Cobalt, the factory helps enterprises move from isolated AI pilots to secure, scalable, continuously improving intelligent systems.
ServiceNow’s President, COO, and CPO Amit Zavery noted that Indian and global customers now ask how quickly AI can translate into measurable outcomes, and that AI Workflow Factory delivers the full reinvention cycle from idea to impact with built‑in control and governance.
Enterprise AI investment in India grew 119% in a single year, according to ServiceNow’s 2026 Enterprise AI Maturity Index, underscoring the market’s rapid adoption and the need for governed, connected execution that the AI Workflow Factory addresses.
The AI Workflow Factory is globally available today, and Autonomous Engineer Early Access can be requested.
