Shriram Life Insurance FY26 Maharashtra Performance Overview

Shriram Life Insurance Company (SLIC) announced on 31 August 2026 that its Maharashtra operations delivered robust growth in fiscal year 2026. Retail policies in the state expanded by 31%, markedly higher than the 12% growth recorded by the private industry segment. Retail premium growth also outperformed peers, rising 17% compared with 9% for the private sector.

The company’s Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Casparus J.H. Kromhout, highlighted Maharashtra as a key focus market and affirmed the firm’s commitment to continued investment, citing the strong policy and premium growth driven by an expanding footprint and trusted distribution partners.

Operational enhancements underpinning this performance include a strengthened agency and bancassurance network, improved digital onboarding processes, and upgraded customer service capabilities. These initiatives aim to broaden life‑insurance access, deepen customer engagement, and support the long‑term financial well‑being of individuals and families across the state.

Financially, SLIC’s new‑business premium for individual customers grew 21% year‑on‑year, reaching Rs 1,666 crore in FY26 from Rs 1,372 crore in FY25. The retail annualised premium equivalent rose 14% to Rs 1,475 crore in FY26, up from Rs 1,289 crore in the prior year.

The insurer now serves over 15.3 lakh in‑force policyholders nationwide. As of March 2026, its assets under management (AUM) increased to ₹15,216 crore, supported by a network of 729 branches across India.
