Contract Details
Sigma Advanced Systems has secured a further long-term contract with Rolls-Royce through its recently acquired UK subsidiary, Bromford Precision Solutions. The agreement is valued at nearly £125 million (approximately Rs 1,600 crore) and builds directly on the recently secured ~£300 million (approximately Rs 3,800 crore) Rolls-Royce long-term agreement. Combined, these agreements total approximately £425 million (approximately Rs 5,400 crore).
Strategic Rationale and Manufacturing Capabilities
The agreement demonstrates the immediate strategic value of the Bromford acquisition, which adds highly complementary manufacturing capabilities in:
- Aero engine rings and casings
- Advanced precision manufacturing
- Lock plates and other critical engine structures
Bromford will manufacture these components at Sigma's India and UK manufacturing facilities, creating a comprehensive dual-source solution as directed by Rolls-Royce.
Business Impact
This agreement significantly strengthens Sigma's position within Rolls-Royce's UK supply chain while increasing long-term revenue visibility. It expands the Group's product offering, manufacturing capability, and content across critical aerospace programmes. The acquisition adds specialist manufacturing expertise and long-standing OEM approvals, accelerating the Group's progression towards higher-value, programme-level aerospace partnerships.
UK Operations and Employment Impact
The agreement secures Bromford's long-term future within the Group as a key UK manufacturing site, safeguarding skilled engineering and manufacturing jobs and reinforcing the resilience of the UK's critical aerospace manufacturing base. With Nasmyth and Bromford now operating as complementary businesses, Sigma continues to execute its strategy of building scale through targeted acquisitions.
Management Commentary
Sunil Kalidindi, Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director, stated: "This agreement is another strong marker of how far India's precision engineering and defence-aerospace manufacturing base has come. Global OEMs like Rolls-Royce are increasingly looking to India not just for cost advantage, but for engineering depth, quality and scale. By combining Bromford's specialist UK capabilities with our integrated India manufacturing network, we are able to offer a genuinely global, dual-source solution."
