Event Overview
On 10 July 2026, the Symbiosis Institute of International Business (SIIB), Pune, commemorated its 34th Foundation Day. The ceremony was held in the institute’s auditorium from 11:00 a.m. to 2:15 p.m., bringing together the institute’s leadership, faculty, staff and students.
Institutional Milestones
Founded in 1992 under the visionary leadership of Dr S. B. Mujumdar, SIIB has grown into a premier business school within Symbiosis International (Deemed University). Current governance includes Pro‑Chancellor Dr Vidya Yeravdekar and Vice‑Chancellor Dr R. Raman. The celebration highlighted the institute’s three‑decade journey and its evolution into a multi‑programme institution.
Academic Programs and Accreditation
SIIB currently offers three specialised MBA programmes: International Business, Agribusiness, and Sustainability Management. The International Business MBA is NBA‑accredited, reflecting adherence to global quality standards. These programmes are positioned to address India’s economic and environmental priorities.
Industry and Research Engagement
In recent years, SIIB has expanded its industry linkages. It signed Memoranda of Understanding with the BAIF Development Research Foundation and the Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO) to broaden applied‑research and export‑oriented learning opportunities. The institute also maintains an active partnership with the Confederation of Indian Industry Young Indians (CII‑Yi) for hands‑on workshops and conducts an annual SAP S/4HANA training workshop for students.
Ceremonial Highlights
The ceremony began with the traditional lighting of the lamp by Director Dr Alka Maurya, Deputy Director Dr Dipen Paul, Pt. Arvindkumar Azad and Mrs Anupama Azad. A retrospective of key milestones over the past 34 years was presented. Cultural performances followed, featuring a classical concert led by Ishwari Dasakkar‑Kadadi, Vaishnavi Joshi and Surashree Dasakar, and a Sufi segment performed by Nilanchak Pande, Sandeepan Mukherjee, Saurabh Gulawani and Amit Vishwakarma, both receiving standing ovations. Dr Dipen Paul concluded the event with a vote of thanks.
