SK Hynix Inc (KS:000660) announced that it has begun shipping samples of its advanced 12‑high HBM4E (high‑bandwidth memory) to major customers, signalling the start of mass‑production activities for the AI‑focused memory product. The company highlighted that HBM4E is the most advanced iteration of high‑bandwidth memory and a critical component for artificial‑intelligence processors, and it will continue collaborating with customers to scale production in response to strong AI‑driven demand. Following the announcement, SK Hynix shares surged nearly 5%, reaching a record price of 2,642,000 won, which contributed to a 0.7% rise in the KOSPI index. The press release also noted that SK Hynix, together with Samsung Electronics Co Ltd and Micron Technology Inc, remains one of the few mass producers of HBM technology. Additionally, the company referenced a recent agreement with NVIDIA Corporation to supply memory chips for NVIDIA’s most advanced AI processors, underscoring its strategic positioning in the AI hardware supply chain.
