Soitec Shares Surge 8% on ZenSemi Partnership

Shares of Soitec jumped roughly 8% on Monday following the announcement of a strategic partnership with Chinese specialty foundry ZenSemi. Under the agreement, Soitec will supply 300mm Power‑SOI substrates to ZenSemi for use in its BCD‑on‑SOI manufacturing process.

BCD‑on‑SOI combines three transistor types – bipolar, CMOS and DMOS – on a silicon‑on‑insulator (SOI) wafer, enabling a single die to handle both precision analog control and high‑voltage power switching. The SOI foundation reduces parasitic capacitance and improves energy efficiency, making the technology well suited to demanding applications in automotive, industrial and power‑management electronics, as well as emerging artificial‑intelligence workloads.

Soitec stated in its press release: "By combining Soitec’s expertise in the supply of engineered substrates with ZenSemi’s specialty foundry capabilities, the two companies aim to provide fabless companies and integrated device manufacturers (IDMs) with a high‑performance manufacturing platform tailored to market needs."

The partners anticipate that once ZenSemi’s production lines reach full volume, they will serve customers in China and globally across the automotive, AI and industrial markets.
