Event Overview
On 28 September 2026 in Greater Noida, actor and humanitarian Sonu Sood served as Chief Guest for the Installation and Pinning Ceremony of the Rotaract Club of Galgotias University. He encouraged students to make community service a core part of their lives, drawing on his experiences during the COVID‑19 pandemic. The ceremony marked the hand‑over of leadership for the 2026‑27 term, featuring the Four‑Way Test, Change of Guard, Collaring Ceremony, oath‑taking, and installation of the new Board of Directors. Dr. Dhruv Galgotia, CEO of Galgotias University, praised Sood’s pandemic work as a powerful example of service in action.
App Fair Highlights
Following the Rotaract event, Sood visited the university’s iOS Development Centre during App Fair 2026. The showcase displayed live demonstrations of student‑developed applications. According to the university, students across three cohorts have launched 84 applications on the Apple App Store, more than 20 additional apps are in development, and three student‑led startups have emerged from the programme. Apple featured Galgotias University on its global website (apple.co/galgotias), highlighting student developer Sharon Bruce and her app “Artistica,” as well as a separate story on student Karan Kumar’s women’s health app “Sakhi.”
