SpaceX announced it has a right to acquire AI coding startup Cursor for $60 billion later this year.
Alternatively, SpaceX can secure a partnership with Cursor for $10 billion, combining its Colossus supercomputer with Cursor’s platform.
The move follows reports of xAI renting compute to Cursor and two senior Cursor engineers joining xAI.
SpaceX, targeting a $1.75 trillion valuation and $75 billion IPO raise, sees the deal as a major expense ahead of its IPO.
