Spirit Airlines announced near completion of passenger refunds after abruptly halting operations over the weekend.
The shutdown followed a sharp rise in fuel costs linked to the Iran war, causing financial pressure on the carrier.
Spirit had over 4,000 domestic flights scheduled through May 15, and about 1,500 crew members were rebased to home bases.
Most card‑booked passengers received refunds by Saturday evening, with a small percentage still processing, while other airlines offered discounted rescue fares.
