SPJIMR Teaching Cases Ranking and Research Impact Initiative

S.P. Jain Institute of Management & Research (SPJIMR) has been ranked second in India and fifteenth globally in the Financial Times 2026 ranking of the world’s most popular teaching cases. The FT’s second‑annual assessment compiled data from five leading case publishers – CEIBS, Harvard Business Impact, IESE Publishing, Ivey Publishing and The Case Centre – and also accounted for authorship by faculty at schools featured in recent FT rankings.

Dean Prof. Varun Nagaraj, in a press release dated 12 October 2026, emphasized that the true measure of management education is whether research addresses real‑world problems and influences practice. He referenced his own paper, “Making Management Research Matter: A Dean’s Reflection on Translation, Diffusion, Crossover, and ROI,” to illustrate this perspective. Prof. Nagaraj announced the upcoming TASIC 2027 conference in Mumbai, scheduled for 12 October 2026, which will include a dedicated session on teaching cases and aims to advance the broader conversation on research impact. A subsequent event, TASIC 3.0 – The Asia‑Pacific Scholarly Impact Conference – is slated for 25–27 February 2027 at SPJIMR, Mumbai, focusing on co‑creating knowledge and translating academic insights into actionable outcomes.

The press release also notes SPJIMR’s broader standing: it is ranked #26 globally and #2 in India in the Financial Times Masters in Management 2026 ranking, and #74 globally in the FT Global MBA 2026 ranking for its PGPM programme. The institute has been recognised by the Positive Impact Rating as one of the world’s top five business schools for societal impact and holds the international Triple Crown of accreditations from EQUIS, AACSB and AMBA.

Other leading institutions appearing alongside SPJIMR in the FT teaching case ranking include Harvard Business School, Western University’s Ivey Business School, University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business, INSEAD and Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.
