Ranking Achievement
SPJIMR was placed at No. 42 in The Case Centre Impact Index 2026, moving up six positions from its 2025 ranking. The institute is one of only four Indian business schools featured in the list, which also includes Harvard Business School, INSEAD, MIT Sloan, Stanford Graduate School of Business and Kellogg School of Management.
Global Adoption of SPJIMR Cases
During the period 1 September 2025 to 31 August 2026, 32 cases authored by SPJIMR faculty were used by 22 organisations across 12 countries, reaching a total of 3,621 students. In the same period The Case Centre received 14 new cases from SPJIMR authors, expanding the institute’s case portfolio to more than 170 cases, among which is a prize‑winning case.
Methodology of the Impact Index
The Impact Index, now in its fourth year, measures the reach of an institution’s case writing by counting the number of cases adopted, the number of organisations and countries using them, and the number of students taught through those cases. All organisations that published at least one case with The Case Centre in the previous academic year are eligible for inclusion.
Institutional Commentary
Dean Prof. Varun Nagaraj said that teaching cases shape how future leaders frame problems, challenge assumptions and exercise judgement, and that the ranking reinforces SPJIMR’s commitment to scholarship that matters. He expressed the institute’s intent to continue advancing research impact and to influence how managers lead and make decisions.
