SRM University-AP, a multidisciplinary private university located in Amaravati, Andhra Pradesh, made its debut in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2027, securing a position in the 1001‑1200 band during its first year of participation. Established less than a decade ago, the institution highlighted that this achievement makes it the youngest private university in India to attain a THE ranking within ten years of its inception and the first university from Andhra Pradesh to do so.

The university’s performance was notably strong in the International Outlook indicator, where it recorded a score of 58.5, placing it fifth among Indian institutions on this metric. Its Research Quality indicator received a score of 55.4, reflecting growing influence and impact of its scholarly output in the global research community.

Pro‑Chancellor Dr P. Sathyanarayanan remarked that entering the THE rankings within a decade confirms the university’s direction, quality, purpose, and ambition, and that the institution will continue to strengthen academic quality, global engagement, and meaningful impact. Vice‑Chancellor Prof. Ch Satish Kumar added that the ranking reflects the culture of curiosity cultivated at SRM University-AP and reinforces the resolve to transform the university into a global destination for learning and research. The inaugural submission to THE was coordinated by the Quality Assurance and Rankings (QAR) team, with Associate Dean Dr Karthik Rajendran noting that securing a place on the first attempt validates the university’s benchmarking of teaching, research, and international engagement against global standards and provides a baseline for future progress.

SRM University-AP’s academic portfolio spans schools of engineering and sciences, liberal arts, and business, alongside dedicated institutes in artificial intelligence and quantum technology, underscoring its commitment to building a research‑driven academic community with global ambitions. The THE World University Rankings 2027 recognition offers an important international reference point as the university expands its research ecosystem, academic collaborations, and global partnerships.
