SRM University-AP Secures Rs13.71 Cr Grants

On Thursday, 2 July 2026, SRM University‑AP, Amaravati announced that its researchers have secured 24 sponsored research and consultancy projects worth a cumulative Rs 13.71 crore since January 2026. The projects were awarded to 26 faculty members by a range of national funding agencies, including the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF), Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), Sree Ramakrishna Paramahamsa Translational Research Grant, and the National Board for Higher Mathematics (NBHM).

The funded initiatives span advanced materials and devices, bioscience for human health, waste‑to‑wealth conversion, as well as literature and mathematics. The single largest award is for a genomic surveillance‑driven phage‑therapy project, which received Rs 1.76 crore. An Indo‑French collaborative study on plasmid‑mediated phage resistance obtained Rs 99.9 lakhs.

Vice Chancellor Prof. C. Satish Kumar congratulated the faculty and research teams, stating that the success reflects a vibrant research culture and will lead to impactful discoveries, stronger collaborations, and new opportunities for students. He further encouraged the research community to target major international grants. Deans of the Schools of Engineering and Sciences, Liberal Arts, and Business Studies also expressed appreciation for the dedication and perseverance of the principal investigators and their teams.
