CSR Initiative – Arogya Seva Kendras in Punjab

Star Health and Allied Insurance Company Limited, India's first standalone health‑insurance firm (BSE: 543412, NSE: STARHEALTH), announced that its Arogya Seva Kendra programme in Punjab has provided free primary‑healthcare services to more than 6,830 beneficiaries since the centres opened in January 2026.

The three centres are located at:

  • Amritsar – Shop No. 3, Aujla Market, Labour Chowk, Gumtala;
  • Bhatinda – House No. Z613685, Street No. 5, Jogi Nagar, Chandigarh Road, near MLA residence;
  • Patiala – Ground Floor, Stadium Road, Kandhari Complex.

Visit statistics show that the Amritsar centre recorded 3,022 beneficiary visits over 154 consultation days, the Bhatinda centre recorded 1,968 visits over 155 consultation days, and the Patiala centre recorded 1,840 visits over 155 consultation days, bringing the total to over 6,830 visits.

Common health conditions treated include diabetes, fever, hypertension, respiratory illnesses and other non‑communicable diseases, underscoring the demand for neighbourhood‑level primary care.

Each centre is staffed by a qualified MBBS doctor, a nurse and a support team. Services offered at no cost comprise:

  • Doctor consultations;
  • Screening for hypertension, diabetes and oral health conditions;
  • Laboratory diagnostics such as random blood‑sugar, haemoglobin, urine sugar and albumin, and rapid diagnostic tests for malaria;
  • Medicines for common and chronic ailments;
  • Health counselling and awareness sessions;
  • Pneumococcal vaccination for eligible beneficiaries.

The initiative is part of Star Health’s broader corporate‑social‑responsibility programme and is implemented in partnership with Piramal Swasthya, a unit of the Piramal Foundation. Across India, Star Health currently operates 32 Arogya Seva Kendras in nine states.

Mr. Mannu Batura, Business Head of Star Health and Allied Insurance, stated that the response demonstrates the importance of accessible neighbourhood healthcare and that the centres help families obtain timely consultation, screening, medication and follow‑up, thereby facilitating early intervention for common health concerns.

The release also highlights Star Health’s overall capabilities: launched in 2006, market leader in standalone health insurance, with a network of over 15,000 hospitals, 18,500 employees, 900+ offices, more than 8 lakh agents, and a record of settling over 1 crore claims. It mentions the “Talk to Star” pre‑admission guidance service, reachable at 7676 905 905 between 8 am and 8 pm, offering assistance in regional languages.
