Star Health and Allied Insurance Company Limited, India's first standalone health insurer (BSE: 543412, NSE: STARHEALTH), announced that its CSR‑driven Arogya Seva Kendra programme in Punjab has provided free primary healthcare to over 6,830 beneficiaries since the centres were launched in January 2026.

Locations and Utilisation

The company operates three Arogya Seva Kendras in Punjab:

  • Amritsar – located at Shop No. 3, Aujla Market, Labour Chowk, Gumtala; recorded 3,022 beneficiary visits over 154 consultation days.
  • Bhatinda – located at House No. Z613685, Street No. 5, Jogi Nagar, Chandigarh Road, near MLA residence; recorded 1,968 visits over 155 consultation days.
  • Patiala – located at Ground Floor, Stadium Road, Kandhari Complex; recorded 1,840 visits over 155 consultation days.

Each centre is staffed by an MBBS doctor, a nurse and a support team.

Services Offered

All services are provided free of cost and include:

  • MBBS doctor consultations.
  • Screening for hypertension, diabetes and oral health conditions.
  • Laboratory diagnostics such as haemoglobin testing, random blood‑sugar testing, urine examination for sugar and albumin, and rapid diagnostic testing for malaria.
  • Medicines for common ailments and chronic conditions.
  • Health counselling and awareness sessions.
  • Pneumococcal vaccination support for eligible beneficiaries.

Common ailments treated across the three centres are diabetes, fever, hypertension, respiratory illnesses and other non‑communicable diseases, underscoring the need for neighbourhood‑level primary care.

Partnership and Expansion

The Arogya Seva Kendra programme is executed under Star Health's CSR initiative in partnership with Piramal Swasthya, a unit of the Piramal Foundation. Across India, Star Health currently operates 32 Arogya Seva Kendras in nine states, aiming to reduce barriers to basic care and encourage timely medical intervention for underserved urban and semi‑urban populations.
