Sudhanshu Vats, Managing Director of Pidilite Ltd, assumed office as President of the Bombay Chamber of Commerce & Industry for the fiscal year 2026‑27 during the Chamber’s 190th Annual General Meeting held in Mumbai on 30 June 2026.
Vision and Strategic Priorities
Vats presented a three‑point roadmap: (i) positioning Mumbai and Maharashtra at the centre of the Chamber’s agenda; (ii) empowering the state’s estimated one crore MSMEs by converting them into technology‑enabled enterprises through artificial‑intelligence‑driven solutions, simplified compliance, and enhanced access to finance; and (iii) transforming the Chamber itself by deploying AI‑enabled digital agents to deliver continuous member engagement, data‑driven policy insights and an always‑on advisory ecosystem. He stated the ambition to make Mumbai one of the world’s most competitive and future‑ready economic centres of the 21st century.
Outgoing President Remarks
Rajiv Anand, Managing Director and CEO of IndusInd Bank, was thanked for his leadership during a challenging environment. Under his tenure the Chamber organised more than 100 conferences, conclaves, seminars, workshops and training programmes, and expanded its policy advocacy and international partnerships.
Chief Guest Address
The AGM’s chief guest, Shri Sivasubramanian Ramann, Chairperson of the Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA), delivered a keynote on the role of pension funds in building a developed India by 2047. He emphasized that pension assets should be mobilised to finance infrastructure and development, thereby providing long‑term capital and financial security for the ageing population.

The evening concluded with a vote of thanks by Sandeep Khosla, Director General of the Bombay Chamber, who reaffirmed the Chamber’s commitment to its legacy while embracing innovation and future‑ready growth.
