Appointment
SWELECT Energy Systems Ltd announced the appointment of Pradeep Kumar Madhur as Chief Business Officer, effective October 1 2026. He will lead sales and business development across the company’s Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC), Independent Power Producer (IPP), channel and solar‑module businesses.
Appointee Background
Madhur brings over 17 years of experience in solar and power‑infrastructure sectors across India and the Asia‑Pacific region. He most recently served as Senior Director and Country Business Leader at Lerri Solar Technology India (LONGi Solar), where he oversaw a business generating more than USD 1 billion in annual revenue. During his tenure LONGi’s India operation rose from the 17th market position to the No. 1 spot, a rank it maintained from 2020 through 2022. Earlier, Madhur was part of the founding team of Sungrow India and helped deploy more than 4 GW of inverter capacity in the first three years of the company’s existence. He also held senior positions at Raychem RPG and Crompton Greaves, managing key accounts for large thermal‑power and high‑voltage grid projects.
Executive Comments
Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director Dr Arulkumar Shanmugasundaram said the appointment strengthens leadership to grow EPC, IPP, module and storage businesses. He added that Madhur’s market‑development expertise will support scaling SWELECT’s integrated solar offerings. Madhur expressed enthusiasm about joining at an important time for India’s renewable‑energy sector, noting that SWELECT’s combination of in‑house manufacturing, EPC capabilities, an IPP portfolio and four decades of power‑electronics experience provides a strong foundation for growth.
Company Overview
Founded in 1984 as a UPS and power‑protection systems leader, SWELECT transitioned from the Numeric brand to SWELECT in 2012, symbolising its evolution from “Power to Energy.” The company now operates three core businesses: an IPP segment selling energy to commercial‑industrial and government customers; a ground‑mounted and rooftop EPC segment; and a channel‑driven product segment offering residential and commercial solar, battery‑energy‑storage solutions and related accessories. Its vertically integrated manufacturing base produces solar photovoltaic modules, mounting structures, string combiner boxes, AC and DC distribution boards, all marketed as “Made in SWELECT” in line with the Government’s Atmanirbhar Bharat mission.
