Syngenta, a leading global agriculture‑innovation company, issued a press release on Tuesday, 4 August 2026 announcing that Eladio Robles will assume the role of Country Head & Managing Director for its India operations, effective 3 August 2026.
Executive Background
Robles joins Syngenta with more than two decades of international leadership experience spanning business management, manufacturing, supply‑chain and operations. Prior to this appointment, he served as Head of Production & Supply for Africa, the Middle East and Asia (AMEA). Since joining Syngenta in 2004, he has held multiple senior positions across various markets, building a record of business transformation, operational excellence, supply‑chain resilience and sustainable growth.
Strategic Focus for India
Robles stated that Syngenta India has become the number‑one crop‑protection company in the country by market share. He outlined that the next phase of growth will be driven by accelerated innovation, a stronger value proposition for customers and growers, deeper sustainability commitments and heightened operational excellence. He expressed confidence that the existing talent pool will reinforce market leadership and help position India as a global innovation hub for Syngenta.
Product Portfolio and Innovation
The company highlighted its intent to broaden farmer access to breakthrough technologies, citing innovative crop‑protection molecules such as PLINAZOLIN®, ADEPIDYN® and TYMIRIUM®. In addition, Syngenta is expanding a portfolio of biological solutions aimed at addressing emerging challenges linked to climate change, pest resistance and resource efficiency.
