Company and Document Details
Global and Industry Context
The Chairman highlighted significant global challenges affecting business operations, including the Russia-Ukraine War, Israel-Lebanon-Palestine conflict, USA tariff impact, and West Asia war. These events caused major business disruptions, fuel shortages, blocked trade routes, and unprecedented inflation across the value chain.
In the Indian context, specific challenges included increased cotton prices, rising fibre prices, Indian Rupee weakening against US Dollar, and intense competition from both domestic and international brands. The textile industry has been carrying excess inventory for almost two years, forcing manufacturers to sell finished products at pre-inflation prices despite higher input costs.
