Event Overview
On 17 October 2026, Tasva – the premium Indian menswear label owned by Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Ltd – unveiled its latest collection at Lakme Fashion Week, held at the Taj Palace in New Delhi. The showcase was organised in partnership with the Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI).
Runway Highlights
The runway featured actor Ali Fazal as the show‑stopper, embodying confidence and sophistication. Creators Mohak Narang, Ashi Khanna, Tarun Kinra and Sunny Chopra also walked the ramp, each adding personal style to the presentation.
Design Inspiration and Techniques
The collection drew on a range of artistic influences, including the Tree of Life, Lipan Art, paisley motifs and the “Art of Light”. It combined floral, fluid and geometric artworks into a contemporary visual narrative. Heritage Indian techniques such as Aari work, Zardozi, mirror work, appliqué, pearl embellishments and three‑dimensional detailing were employed to add texture and depth. The colour palette ranged from soft ivory, lilac, salmon and jade for daytime celebrations to deeper jewel tones and vibrant accents for cocktail evenings and mehndi events. Silhouettes included asymmetrical sherwanis, sharply tailored pieces, sleek dinner jackets and Indo‑Western ensembles, blending traditional ceremonial styles with modern tailoring.
Executive Commentary
Sunil Sethi, Chairman of FDCI, remarked that Tasva creates a dialogue between India’s sartorial heritage and the evolving preferences of the modern Indian man, and that platforms like Lakme Fashion Week highlight the relevance of Indian craftsmanship today. Designer Tarun Tahiliani explained that Tasva’s approach merges global tailoring with heritage techniques to produce comfortable, contemporary occasion wear, noting the use of technology to make embroidery more accessible and affordable. Brand Head Ashish Mukul emphasized that today’s Indian groom seeks attire that honors tradition while reflecting individual style, and that Tasva aims to deliver such a wardrobe. Jaspreet Chandok, Group Vice President of Reliance Brands Limited, observed that Indian menswear is undergoing an exciting evolution toward individuality, versatility and contemporary design, and that Tasva’s showcase exemplifies this shift.
Celebrity Insight
Ali Fazal praised the collection for marrying rich Indian craftsmanship with a contemporary sensibility, allowing the modern Indian man to express his style with confidence and individuality.
