Tata Power and Druk Green Power Corporation amended their MoU to add a 404 MW Nyera Amari hydropower project, increasing their total identified collaboration capacity to 5,033 MW.
The partnership supports Bhutan's goal to reach 25,000 MW generation capacity by 2040 and includes 500 MW of solar projects alongside the hydropower portfolio.
Work has already commenced on the Khorlochhu (600 MW) and Dorjilung (1,125 MW) projects, which represent approximately 35% of the committed 5 GW portfolio.
Projects will be developed with mutually agreed equity participation, enhancing regional energy security and Bhutan's clean energy leadership.
