Announcement
Tata Realty & Infrastructure Ltd, a fully‑owned subsidiary of Tata Sons, announced that its Intellion Park Chennai (formerly Ramanujan IT Park) has been awarded WELL Core Platinum certification for every building in the campus by the International WELL Building Institute (IWBI). This makes the campus the largest WELL Core Platinum‑certified development in India and places it among the world’s biggest multi‑building clusters with this level of certification.
Additional Sustainability Credential
The same campus also received India’s first IFC EDGE Zero Carbon certification, underscoring its carbon‑neutral design and operational performance.
Certification Significance
WELL Core Platinum evaluates ten parameters linked to occupant health and productivity, including air quality, light quality, thermal comfort and acoustic design, establishing a measurable standard for workplace well‑being.
Executive Commentary
MD & CEO Sanjay Dutt said that climate change impacts such as heat waves and erratic rainfall have made sustainability and well‑being central to workplace and city design, and that the certification aligns with Tata Group’s nation‑building philosophy. Senior Vice‑President and Head of Commercial Leasing Ritesh Sachdev added that delivering workplaces that meet global ESG and wellness benchmarks is increasingly non‑negotiable for GCC operators and multinational tenants, and that the certification gives tenants a confidence‑boosting, productivity‑enhancing environment.
Portfolio Context
Tata Realty’s “Intellion” office‑park portfolio currently comprises over 9.4 million sq ft of developed space and 10.2 million sq ft under development, with a target of 27 million sq ft by 2030. The portfolio serves more than 102 tenants, including Fortune 500 companies and other multinationals, and all Intellion campuses have already achieved WELL ratings from IWBI.
