Telangana Government Recognizes CSSH as Official Sports Science & Sports Medicine Facility
On July 22, 2026, the Government of Telangana formally acknowledged the Center for Spine & Sports Health (CSSH) as a Sports Science and Sports Medicine Facility designated to serve athletes representing the state. The recognition was conveyed through an official communication from Mr. Jayesh Ranjan, IAS, Special Chief Secretary to the Department of Sports, who praised CSSH’s advanced technologies supplied by Nordic Health Finland and VALD Performance, and urged the centre to collaborate closely with the Sports Authority of Telangana (SATG) and the Young India Physical Education & Sports University (YIPESU).
Mr. Ranjan’s visit highlighted CSSH’s multidisciplinary approach, noting that its capabilities meet international standards in sports medicine, rehabilitation, sports science, and athlete performance. He emphasized that the partnership represents a critical step toward building a comprehensive, athlete‑centric support system for Telangana and has the potential to significantly advance sports medicine across India.
Pullela Gopichand, Chief National Coach of the Indian Badminton Team and Co‑Founder/Chief Mentor of CSSH, stated that modern sport depends not only on talent and coaching but also on scientific athlete support, injury prevention, and evidence‑based musculoskeletal care. He commended CSSH for integrating advanced technology, objective assessments, rehabilitation, and muscle strengthening under one roof.
Co‑founder and CEO Naresh Kumar Pagidimarry expressed deep honour at the government’s recognition, reaffirming CSSH’s commitment to evidence‑based sports medicine, objective performance assessment, injury prevention, rehabilitation, and scientific training. He outlined plans to work with SATG and YIPESU to strengthen athlete development, foster research and innovation, build future healthcare talent, and contribute to Telangana’s vision of becoming a leader in sports excellence.
Since its inception, CSSH has built an integrated model that combines sports medicine, physiotherapy, biomechanics, objective muscle‑strength assessment, rehabilitation, and performance optimisation. The centre has collaborated with more than 400 national and international athletes across badminton, football, cricket, swimming, and basketball. Notable athletes include table‑tennis champion Sreeja Akula, Hyderabad E Champions captain Abhirath Reddy, cricketer Mickil Jaiswal, basketball player Viha Reddy Jonnalagadda, U‑18 national tennis player Siri Dandu, and swimming champion Shivani Karra.
The government’s recognition underscores the growing importance of multidisciplinary sports science in enhancing athlete health, reducing injury risk, and improving long‑term performance. It also reflects Telangana’s continued investment in high‑performance sport and its ambition to position the state as a premier destination for sports excellence in India.
