TERI School of Advanced Studies (TERI SAS), a UGC‑recognised deemed‑to‑be university located in Vasant Kunj, New Delhi, announced the launch of a four‑year Bachelor of Arts programme in Policy and Development Studies commencing in the Academic Year 2026‑27. Programme Structure and Curriculum

The curriculum is built around six key verticals: Public Policy, Governance and Institutions, Development Studies and Practices, Economics, Sustainability, and Methods and Tools for Research, Community Engagement and Field Practices. In addition to these thematic areas, students will receive training in emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning, Data Science and Python programming, enabling the application of these tools in policy research and data analysis.

Alignment with National Education Policy

The initiative aligns with the mandates of the National Education Policy 2020, which seeks to deliver holistic education through a blend of theory and practice. The programme aims to develop an international cadre of development and policy professionals equipped to address contemporary challenges including social and economic inequalities, climate change, disasters, energy security, poverty and geopolitics.

Flexible Entry‑Exit Options

The programme offers flexible pathways: students completing three years will be awarded a BA degree in Policy and Development Studies, while those who continue for a fourth year will earn a BA Honours with Research in the same discipline. This flexibility allows candidates to tailor their academic journey to their career objectives.

Eligibility and Admissions

Eligibility is open to candidates from Science, Commerce, Social Science and Humanities backgrounds who have completed 10+2 from any recognised board and stream.
