Listed Companies and Sectors: The “Go Green with Tetra Pak” initiative was launched on World Environment Day 2026 at Veer Baji Prabhu Udyan, Dadar, as a citywide awareness campaign jointly run by Tetra Pak India, recycling partner RUR Greenlife, retail partners Reliance Smart and Sahakari Bhandar, and the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC). The campaign highlights the packaging, waste‑management and municipal sectors.
Inauguration: The event was inaugurated by Mr. Yogesh Desai, Assistant Commissioner, G North Ward, BMC.
Innovative Pathway: A central feature is a pedestrian pathway constructed from paver tiles made of polymer‑aluminium (polyal) recovered from used beverage cartons, showcasing a lightweight, weather‑resistant, durable alternative to conventional concrete.
Cartons to Creatures Installations: The campaign unveiled large‑scale interactive animal installations titled “Cartons to Creatures,” built entirely from recycled aseptic cartons, providing life‑sized photo‑op opportunities and emphasizing the creative potential of recycling.
Volunteer Engagement: Volunteers from RUR Greenlife are stationed at the installations to engage visitors, disseminate information on carton recycling, and promote participation in the Go Green with Tetra Pak programme.
Collection Infrastructure: Citizens can recycle used beverage cartons at more than 50 collection points located within Reliance Smart and Sahakari Bhandar stores, supplemented by over 200 additional collection points distributed across Mumbai.
Program History: Launched in 2010, the Go Green with Tetra Pak programme has previously transformed collected cartons into school desks, garden benches, and community awareness installations, demonstrating tangible reuse of waste material.
Objective: The initiative aims to spark conversations around sustainability, encourage responsible waste segregation, expand participation in Mumbai’s recycling ecosystem, and align with the World Environment Day 2026 theme “Inspired by Nature. For Climate. For Our Future.”
