Overview
The Telangana Tribal Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society (TGTWREIS) and Transform Schools, People For Action (PFA) formalised a three‑year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) during the Academic Success Meet 2026 held on 30 May 2026 at Babu Jagjivan Ram Bhavan, Hyderabad. The agreement aims to strengthen learning outcomes and overall educational quality across TGTWREIS’s network of 91 residential schools, directly benefiting approximately 27,211 tribal students enrolled in Classes 6‑9.
MoU Details
The MoU was handed over by Hon’ble Minister Sri Adluri Laxman Kumar and Smt. K. Seetha Lakshmi, IAS, Secretary of TGTWREIS & TGEMRS, marking the commencement of a strategic partnership. Under the current plan for the academic year 2026‑27, TGTWREIS schools will be incorporated into the Qualcomm® aqriti™ STEM Education programme, which is implemented by People For Action to expand STEM access for under‑privileged girls in government schools nationwide.
Programme Objectives
- Strengthen the Learning Improvement Programme to enhance classroom teaching and learning.
- Provide technical and management support to TGTWREIS for effective implementation, governance, monitoring, and review.
- Improve learning outcomes for students in Classes 6‑9 through evidence‑based remedial and accelerated learning approaches.
Transform Learning Programme
Transform Schools will deliver a comprehensive 200‑hour structured learning model designed to raise foundational and grade‑level competencies. The package includes curriculum‑aligned learning resources, practice materials for classroom instruction, remediation, and self‑directed study; structured capacity‑building for teachers covering lesson planning, pedagogy, assessment, and data‑driven instruction; and capacity‑building for school heads and middle‑cadre officials to enhance academic planning, school management, instructional leadership, and continuous improvement processes.

The event was inaugurated by Sri Adluri Laxman Kumar, Hon’ble Minister for Scheduled Castes Development, Tribal Welfare, Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Senior Citizens and Transgender Persons, Government of Telangana, who served as Chief Guest. Honourable guests included Sri Ponnam Prabhakar (Minister for Transport and BC Welfare), Smt. Anasuya Seethakka Dhanasari (Minister for Panchayat Raj and Women & Child Welfare), Sri Addanki Dayakar (MLC), Sri V. Naveen Yadav (MLA, Jubilee Hills), Sri Vedma Bhoju (MLA, Khanapur), Sri Bellaiah Naik (Chairman, TRICOR), and Dr. Samujwala (Director, Tribal Cultural Research & Training Institute). The programme was presided over by Smt. K. Seetha Lakshmi, IAS.
