Thermo King Expands All‑Electric EV Series in Asia Pacific
On September 9, 2026, from Shanghai, Thermo King ®—a strategic brand of global climate innovator Trane Technologies (NYSE: TT)—announced the launch of four new all‑electric EV series models for the Asia Pacific region: EV500S, EV500e, EV300e and EV200e. The models are built on a highly integrated electric drive solution and target a broad spectrum of urban cold‑chain applications, including the transport of fruits, vegetables, fresh e‑commerce goods, pharmaceuticals, and high‑frequency short‑haul last‑mile deliveries from urban cold‑storage facilities to retail outlets.
The new EV series delivers an 8.3 % improvement in operating energy efficiency compared with first‑generation units, while also offering significantly enhanced cooling performance. Temperature stability is maintained within ±0.5 °C thanks to the ARCON intelligent control architecture, which dynamically adjusts cooling output to match changing cargo loads. Standard ECO mode further reduces energy consumption without compromising cooling, extending the driving range of electric transport vehicles.
Additional technical upgrades include multi‑level fault protection, intelligent adaptive defrost logic, a high‑grade waterproof design for all‑weather operation, and a highly integrated drive solution that streamlines system layout, improves installation and maintenance efficiency, and lowers total life‑cycle operating costs.
Thermo King also offers the next‑generation iTracKing II intelligent system as an optional feature. Powered by IP67‑rated industrial‑grade TBOX hardware, iTracKing II provides continuous remote monitoring of vehicle location, cargo compartment temperature and unit operating status via a mobile app. Unlike conventional systems, it enables two‑way remote control—allowing users to start/stop units, set temperatures and reset alarms remotely—and supports long‑term historical data storage and customizable report export, enhancing asset visibility, management efficiency and end‑to‑end traceability.
"The shift to electric vehicles is transforming urban cold chain distribution, where balancing energy efficiency and temperature stability remains critical," said Helen Ling, Vice President of Thermo King Asia Pacific. "Backed by more than a decade of electric refrigeration expertise, our new EV series marks another step forward in delivering greater energy efficiency, stronger reliability and smarter digital capabilities to customers while supporting more sustainable cold chain transport."
Thermo King, part of Trane Technologies, continues its legacy—dating back to 1938—in providing temperature‑controlled transport solutions across trailers, truck bodies, buses, aircraft, shipboard containers and railway cars, now extending its portfolio with fully electric, digitally connected cold‑chain units for the evolving urban logistics landscape.
