Thyrocare Launches India's First Lab‑Backed Pregnancy Kit
Thyrocare Technologies Limited (NSE: THYROCARE, BSE: 539871), one of India’s largest diagnostics firms, announced the launch of the Thyrocare Pregnancy Kit, the first pregnancy test in India to be bundled with a quantitative laboratory confirmation test. The kit combines a rapid at‑home pregnancy test with a voucher for a Thyrocare Beta hCG laboratory test, offering women an immediate result and a precise hormonal measurement when desired.
The product is priced at a maximum retail price of Rs 60 per pack. Each pack contains the at‑home rapid test (sensitivity 25 mIU/mL), a dropper, and a coupon code. The bundled Beta hCG laboratory test is offered at Rs 399, which is half of its regular price of Rs 800, and includes home sample collection. The voucher remains valid for six months from the date of purchase. The kit is available through leading pharmacies, e‑commerce platforms, and q‑commerce services.
Thyrocare’s extensive diagnostic network underpins the offering: the company operates 46 NABL‑accredited laboratories, maintains 11,310 collection points across 607 districts, and processes more than 100,000 samples each day. This infrastructure enables a woman to scan a QR code on the kit packaging, book the confirmatory Beta hCG test via Thyrocare’s website, and have a sample collected at home within a few hours.
Actor Yami Gautam has been appointed as the brand ambassador for the Thyrocare Pregnancy Kit. In her statement, Gautam emphasized the need for clarity and reassurance in pregnancy results, noting that millions of Indian women currently rely solely on a line‑based home test without laboratory confirmation. Thyrocare MD and CEO Rahul Guha highlighted the company’s two‑decade‑long laboratory network as the foundation for this “obvious next step” in consumer healthcare, delivering a quick home answer paired with clinical confirmation.
India’s market for pregnancy testing is sizable, with more than 150 million pregnancy tests sold annually, the vast majority of which are home‑only and lack any laboratory follow‑up. The introduction of a combined kit aims to address this gap by providing both immediate and clinically validated results.
