Overview

Timefolk, a marketplace connecting clients with local experts for practical, in‑person skill sessions, publicly launched on 26 September 2026, initially focusing on Dubai and India.

Founder and Technology

The platform was conceived by founder Sattya, who built the end‑to‑end system himself using artificial‑intelligence tools that also support parts of daily operations.

Service Offering

Clients select a skill from a predefined list that includes interview practice, cabin‑crew interview preparation, language conversation and pronunciation, Business English, Arabic for daily life, CV review, pitch‑deck feedback, newcomer assistance and AI tools for work. After choosing a skill, the client views expert profiles showing profession, years of experience, an ID‑verified seal and optional short skill videos. The client then selects a public venue (café, library, coworking space), a date, time and session length ranging from 30 minutes to 6 hours.

Expert Participation and Economics

Experts register independently, set their own session fee within the range customary for their city, and retain 80 % of the fee; the remaining 20 % is taken by Timefolk. Fees are fixed and displayed before payment. An expert has 15 minutes to accept a booking; failure to accept triggers an automatic refund to the client.

Verification and Safety

Both clients and experts must complete a government‑issued ID verification and a biometric liveness check. Sessions are required to occur in public places; home, hotel room or vehicle locations are prohibited. Only the two participants know the exact location, and all profiles and reviews can be reported or blocked, with each report reviewed by a designated person.

Platform Reach

The app is available on iPhone, iPad, Android and web, supports eight languages (English, Arabic, Spanish, French, Hindi, Portuguese, German, Mandarin Chinese) and processes payments in 120 countries.
