Truecaller Lite Launch in India

Truecaller announced the launch of Truecaller Lite, a lightweight Android application of approximately 10 MB that can be installed in moments and runs smoothly on devices with up to 4 GB of RAM. The app is designed for phones with limited storage and memory, addressing the needs of users whose devices are constrained by festive‑season photos, videos, and forwards.

Core Protection Capabilities

Truecaller Lite delivers the same scam‑detection intelligence as the full Truecaller app, which identified over 68 billion spam and fraud calls in 2025. Users can:

  • View caller ID before answering.
  • Block spam and fraud calls using signals from Truecaller’s global community.
  • Use the app as a dialer, with integrated call history, contacts, and number search.
  • See an after‑call screen displaying the most recent contact for both incoming and outgoing calls.

Features such as messaging, voicemail, Family Protection, and an AI assistant are deliberately omitted to keep the app small and responsive.

I have seen many people with older or basic Android phones struggling with heavy apps. So many people in India told us they wanted Truecaller but lacked the storage space or smooth performance. Availability and Roll‑out

Truecaller Lite is free to download from the Google Play Store in India and is available only on Android. The roll‑out will occur in phases, reaching eligible devices over the coming weeks. The app supports Android phones with up to 4 GB RAM.
