Overview

Truevis Technologies Pvt. Ltd received an allocation of 50 acres of land in Haldia, West Bengal, announced by Chief Minister Shri Suvendu Adhikari on 14 October 2026. The allocation supports the state’s Haldia revival plan and will be used to build a new medical‑equipment manufacturing plant with a planned investment of ₹500 crore.

Investment and Capacity

The plant represents Truevis’s second manufacturing base in India and its first in eastern India. Truevis projects that, once fully commissioned, the facility will produce more than 1,000 large medical‑equipment units per year, including diagnostic imaging, patient‑monitoring, radiotherapy and radiology equipment, along with related components and assemblies. The company expects the plant to generate over 5,000 direct and indirect jobs during the operational phase, covering skilled roles in assembly, testing, quality control, biomedical engineering, field service, as well as ancillary employment in construction, logistics, supply‑chain, installation and service.

Business Outlook

Truevis forecasts annual business exceeding ₹1,000 crore within five years of the plant’s commissioning. The new base is intended to serve hospitals, diagnostic centres and healthcare institutions across West Bengal, eastern and north‑eastern India, and to leverage Haldia’s port for export shipments. By localising component production and developing a vendor ecosystem, the company aims to reduce import dependence for selected product categories.

Government Context

The land allocation was made alongside the inauguration of AdPerMa Private Limited’s ₹6,000‑crore integrated phenol and acetone complex. The Chief Minister also announced a further ₹10,000 crore investment plan for the port town and indicated that a new industrial policy—covering incentives, land allocation and power tariffs—will be unveiled before Diwali.

Skill Development and Partnerships

Truevis intends to collaborate with local technical institutions such as CIPET and Durgachak ITI to train technicians and engineers required for the plant’s operations, aligning with the “Atmanirbhar Bangla” vision of import substitution and industrial‑led employment.

Strategic Significance

The project brings high‑value diagnostic and therapeutic equipment manufacturing onshore in eastern India, addressing India’s substantial reliance on imported medical equipment. The phased investment will fund plant infrastructure, production and assembly lines, testing and calibration facilities, quality and regulatory systems, technology integration and workforce development.
