Award Announcement
Pt. Umesh Chandra Pant, a New Delhi‑based Vedic astrologer, author, columnist and Vaastu expert, has been honoured with the Utkrisht Prerna Puraskar 2026. The award recognises individuals whose professional journeys demonstrate sustained work, purpose and contribution in their fields, and it marks another milestone in Pant’s more than 37‑year career in astrology.
Professional Background
Pant began his practice in 1988, initially exploring planetary influences and classical principles before developing a long‑term professional pursuit. Over the decades he has studied and interpreted individual horoscopes in contexts such as education, profession, business, finance, marriage, relationships and major life decisions. His work now spans several branches of Vedic astrology, including natal astrology, Prashna, Muhurta, medical astrology, remedial astrology and Vaastu.
Publications and Knowledge Sharing
He has authored more than 2,500 articles covering foundational astrological concepts and practical subjects such as planetary movements, house meanings, Dashas, career guidance, marriage and relationships, finance, Muhurta, Vaastu and astrological remedies. These writings aim to translate technical Jyotish terminology into language accessible to general readers, thereby extending his reach beyond one‑on‑one consultations.
Academic Titles and Recognitions
Throughout his career Pant has received multiple academic titles, including Jyotish Ratna, Jyotish Bhushan, Jyotish Prabhakar, Jyotish Shastracharya and Jyotish Rishi, reflecting his continued scholarly engagement with Jyotish.
Digital Adaptation and Platform
Pant founded and serves as Chief Astrologer of the PavitraJyotish platform, which delivers astrology consultations, horoscope analysis, research, writing and educational content through websites, digital publications, video consultations and online resources. He emphasizes that technology is a medium of communication rather than a replacement for traditional knowledge and experience.
Significance of the Award
The Utkrisht Prerna Puraskar 2026 acknowledges Pant’s sustained association with Vedic astrology, his extensive publication record, and his efforts to make traditional knowledge accessible to a global audience via digital channels. The recognition underscores his responsibility to continue learning, preserve the depth of traditional knowledge and communicate astrology with clarity.
