Unitree Prices Shanghai IPO at $9.04B Valuation
Unitree, also known as Yushu Technology and based in Hangzhou, announced that it priced its initial public offering on the Shanghai Stock Exchange’s STAR Market at 150.8 yuan per share (approximately $22.34). The pricing gives the company a post‑money valuation of roughly 61 billion yuan, equivalent to $9.04 billion, exceeding its earlier target of up to 50 billion yuan.
The company intends to raise 6.1 billion yuan by issuing 40.45 million new shares, which will constitute 10 % of the enlarged share capital after the offering. The subscription period is set to open on 10 August 2026.
Strategic investor DeepSeek, a Chinese artificial‑intelligence firm, is participating in the IPO. According to the prospectus, the proceeds will be allocated to the development of robot software and hardware, the launch of new robot products, and the construction of a dedicated manufacturing base.
Unitree’s existing portfolio includes humanoid and four‑legged robots that have received approvals for use in the United States. However, the prospectus notes that future models could encounter sales restrictions in the United States due to ongoing trade and technology tensions between the United States and China. The article references recent U.S. measures tightening Chinese access to U.S. technology and markets, as well as Beijing’s retaliatory export curbs and sanctions on selected U.S. entities.
