Milestone Achievement
Varaha Heritage, described as India’s museum‑authenticated replica maker, announced that it has created more than 3,000 exact, museum‑certified replicas of sculptures older than a millennium. The replicas are based on documentation from over 40 Indian museums, with direct collaboration with more than eight museums and indirect work with over 20 heritage collections.
Technology Platform and Digital Archive
Co‑founder Hemkant Tripathi led the development of a three‑year 3D scanning and virtualization platform that digitises museum objects. The first major project scanned 100 objects stored in a government safe‑deposit of archaeological material and published them on heritageverse.net, which has attracted more than 25,000 viewers. The company describes its approach as physical‑digital‑physical: digitally record the original, then produce a faithful physical replica.
Replica Certification and Documentation
Each replica is certified by the museum that owns the original, confirming fidelity and recording the museum’s participation. Replicas are accompanied by a researched keeper’s card, a certificate of authenticity, and provenance details that specify the original source, its location and cultural significance. This documentation differentiates the replicas from ordinary souvenirs.
Public Showcases and Government Engagement
On 17 September 2025, during the foundation‑stone ceremony for the PM MITRA Park in Dhar, Madhya Pradesh, Prime Minister Narendra Modi received a Nar Varaha idol recreated by Varaha Heritage. The company also curated the museum display for the PM Vishwakarma scheme exhibition, a central‑government programme for traditional artisans inaugurated by the Prime Minister, and exhibited its work at the International Museum Expo organised by the Ministry of Culture.
Commercial Expansion – E‑commerce Platform
Varaha Heritage launched varahaheritage.com in the previous year, positioning it as a museum‑authenticated e‑commerce platform that sells replicas and souvenirs. The platform enables museums to earn revenue, turning them into partners rather than mere lenders of objects.
Leadership and Growth Strategy
Founder Hitesh Kumar, a former museum designer, emphasises that museums should be learning hubs and that replicas must preserve the dignity of the original objects. Co‑founder Ajay Arora, with prior experience scaling national consumer businesses for Bennett, Coleman & Co., Hindustan Times and Samsung, now leads the push to transform Varaha Heritage from a local impact initiative to a global brand. He has also introduced Varaha Walks and Varaha Originals, extending the company’s offerings beyond replica sales.
Mission and Vision
Varaha Heritage’s stated goal is to make India’s heritage visible and accessible, one certified replica at a time, addressing the challenge that many heritage objects are stored in distant museums, temples or safe‑deposits and are therefore out of reach for the general public.
