VELS Success Day 2026 Scholarship Awards

On Tuesday, VELS Institute of Science, Technology & Advanced Studies (VISTAS) hosted its annual VELS Success Day 2026 at the university campus in Chennai. During the ceremony, the institute distributed scholarships totaling Rs 3.5 crore to 4,034 meritorious students, underscoring its commitment to academic excellence.

The scholarship recipients were classified as follows:

  • 345 University Rank Holders
  • 849 students who ranked within the top 10 % of their respective programmes
  • 1,640 students who successfully completed SWAYAM and NPTEL online courses
  • 1,200 beneficiaries of the existing VELS scholarship scheme

The event featured remarks from Dr. Preethaa Ganesh, Vice President of the VELS Group of Institutions, who highlighted the ethos of continuous self‑improvement and the role of scholarships in encouraging outstanding performance. She emphasized that success is measured by personal growth rather than competition.

Mr. Krishna Balagurunathan, Chief Mentor & Associate Vice President – Early Careers at Hexaware Technologies, delivered the inaugural address, urging students to cultivate strong communication skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to express differing opinions respectfully. He noted that modern employers increasingly value attitude alongside technical competence.

Presiding over the ceremony were Dr. M. Bhaskaran, Vice‑Chancellor (FAC) of VISTAS, and Dr. M. Chandrasekaran, Registrar of VISTAS, together with faculty members, parents, and students.
