Vikrant University, a private UGC‑recognised institution in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, announced that its Full‑Time MBA programme has been placed in the 301+ global band of the QS Global MBA Rankings 2027 and in the 51+ band of the QS MBA Rankings – Asia 2027.
Ranking Context
The QS Global MBA Rankings evaluate individual full‑time MBA programmes against five weighted indicators – employability, entrepreneurship and alumni outcomes, return on investment, thought leadership, and class and faculty diversity. Inclusion required the university to submit and validate detailed institutional, academic, placement and alumni data in line with QS’s international methodology.
The 2027 edition lists 19 Indian MBA providers, more than triple the representation in 2020, and Vikrant University is one of only five Indian institutions making their debut in the global ranking. It is also the sole university headquartered in Gwalior to appear.
Programme Details
According to Vice‑Chancellor Dr. Atul Kumar, the Full‑Time MBA is a two‑year postgraduate programme open to graduates of any stream. It offers a Dual Specialisation option and single specialisations in Marketing, Finance, Financial Administration, Human Resource Management, Business Analytics, Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Hospital Administration, Hospitality Management, Agri Business, Tourism and Travel Management, Fashion Management, and Operations Management. The programme is delivered at the Chittora Road campus and is supported by an industry‑linked curriculum, professional mentorship, and a dedicated training and placement cell.
The School of Management and Commerce also offers BBA, B.Com (Honours and Honours with Research), M.Com, MHHCM, MPH, and vocational certificate and diploma programmes in Retail & Operations, BFSI and Business Management, all aligned with NEP 2020.
University Profile
Vikrant University operates across ten schools – Engineering & Technology, Management and Commerce, Computer Applications, Natural and Applied Sciences, Humanities and Culture, Legal Studies, Agriculture Sciences, Pharmacy and allied disciplines – delivering more than 150 programmes ranging from certificate to doctoral levels. Pro‑Vice Chancellor Mr. Vikrant Singh Rathore described the ranking as a “significant milestone for a private university in Central India,” placing the MBA programme alongside established schools in Europe, North America and Asia. Chancellor Shri Rakesh Singh Rathore added that the recognition creates pride but also responsibility, and that the university will now focus on converting global visibility into stronger industry partnerships, deeper research impact, better student outcomes and a world‑class learning experience.
