Overview

VinFast, a subsidiary of Vietnam’s Vingroup JSC and listed on NASDAQ (VFS), has launched the VF 7 electric SUV for the Indian market. The vehicle is built on a 2,840 mm wheelbase, providing a spacious cabin with a flat floor that enhances rear‑seat comfort, especially for children. Its electric powertrain eliminates engine noise, delivering a quieter and smoother ride.

Climate‑Control Innovation

The Indian‑spec VF 7 allows users to pre‑condition the cabin via a smartphone app, enabling the HVAC system to cool the interior 10‑20 minutes before entry. Depending on the variant, the SUV also offers ventilated front seats, dual‑zone air‑conditioning, an air ionizer, and PM1.0 filtration.

Charging and Energy Cost Benefits

The VF 7 supports DC fast charging, moving from 10% to 70% state‑of‑charge in approximately 26‑28 minutes, subject to variant and charging conditions. VinFast has pledged free charging at its V‑Green charging stations across India until 31 March 2029. V‑Green is expanding its fast‑charging network in partnership with RoadGrid India, targeting high‑demand locations such as HPCL retail outlets, smart‑city sites, and other strategic points.

Ownership Costs and Incentives

Owners receive free scheduled maintenance for three years or up to 36,000 km, whichever occurs first. Additionally, VinFast’s India EV transition programme provides a monetary incentive ranging from INR 175,000 to INR 214,000 for eligible customers who replace an internal‑combustion‑engine vehicle with a VF 7.

Performance and Feature Trim Levels

The VF 7 delivers a driving range of up to 496 km on a single charge, varying by variant. Higher‑spec models add premium features such as ventilated front seats, a head‑up display, 360‑degree surround‑view monitoring, and advanced driver‑assistance systems.

Corporate Context

VinFast’s product portfolio includes electric SUVs, e‑scooters, and e‑buses, and the company is pursuing rapid global expansion of its distribution and manufacturing capabilities across North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.
