Press Release – Vivekanand Education Society, Chembur
On September 26, 2026, a board meeting of the Vivekanand Education Society (VES) in Chembur, Mumbai, was held in New Delhi. During the meeting, Trustee Shri DR Lalit Tekchandani proposed establishing a dedicated support system for students from the community who aspire to join the Indian Civil Services – IAS, IPS and IRS, modeled on the successful JEETO initiative. To operationalise the vision, Shri Tekchandani announced an initial seva contribution of Rs 5,00,000 (five lakh rupees).
The project’s objective is to provide mentorship, coaching support and financial assistance to under‑privileged boys and girls across India who possess the talent and ambition to pursue civil service careers but lack guidance and resources. The proposal received warm appreciation from Chairman Shri Rajesh Gyani and fellow trustees Shri Bansi Wadhwa, Shri Dr Lulla, and all other trustees present. The Trust will now develop detailed modalities, including selection criteria, mentoring frameworks and coaching partnerships, with a view to launching the initiative at the earliest possible date.
The initiative is scheduled to commence on 22 February, aligning with the birth anniversary of the Society’s founder, the late Shri Hashu ji Advani, who was an RSS pracharak.
