• Volkswagen will cease production of Group vehicles at its Osnabrueck plant from 2027, CEO Oliver Blume announced.
• The automaker is holding intensive talks with defence firms to repurpose the site for military transport vehicle production, excluding weapons or tanks.
• Blume said the German government gave a clear mandate to strengthen defence, enabling use of automation expertise and workforce skills.
