Waaree Clean Energy Solutions (WCES), a wholly owned subsidiary of Waaree Energies Limited, announced its entry into India's specialty gases business. The new vertical aims to serve as a one-stop supplier to the country's semiconductor and solar cell manufacturers, addressing critical supply chain bottlenecks.

Target Market and Strategic Rationale

The initiative targets India's expanding semiconductor and electronics manufacturing sector under the Semicon India 2.0 programme. Currently, high-purity process gases and chemicals are largely imported, creating supply constraints. WCES aims to provide domestic supply alternatives across India to support manufacturing scale-up.

Infrastructure Development

WCES is building a specialty gases plant at GIDC Saykha, Dahej, Gujarat. The development will occur in phases and includes:

  • Specialty gases warehousing with multi-purpose storage and handling built to semiconductor-grade safety and purity standards
  • UHP Ammonia purification unit for semiconductor-grade ammonia
  • Phosphine/Hydrogen (PH₃/H₂) mixing plant for precision gas blends used in doping and deposition processes
  • UHP Oxygen production capabilities
  • UHP Hydrogen (already commercially available)
