Launch Overview

Welica, a career‑preparation platform based in New Delhi, announced on 10 October 2026 the launch of Welica 2.0, an app available on the Indian App Store and Google Play. The app combines structured preparation plans for more than 400 roles spanning eight fields, role‑specific AI and market insights, 16 life‑skills courses and private wellbeing support.

AI Impact Findings

Welica’s September review found that 68 % of the software and data roles assessed are growing, while 74 % contain at least one task that Welica classifies as mostly performed by AI. Across all sectors, 85 % of roles that are both growing and open at entry level are in engineering, the trades and health. Software and data, business and strategy, and design together account for nearly 80 % of roles rated hardest to enter.

Career Pathways and Features

The platform covers the following fields: software, data and AI; engineering; design and creative arts; business and strategy; people and service; trades and technical work; public service; health and science. Users begin with a short Career Fit Survey that matches roles to interests, work style and study area. Selected roles generate a preparation plan delivered as short daily steps; each chapter lasts one to three weeks and ends with a concrete deliverable such as a portfolio piece, a professional conversation or completed interview preparation. For working professionals, a separate pathway identifies skills and workplace actions needed for the next level.

Each role includes an “AI & market” view that is refreshed monthly, indicating which tasks are moving toward automation, where human judgement remains essential, how hiring is changing and which adjacent roles could be explored. The AI insights draw on U.S. and U.K. government occupation data, entry‑level hiring indicators and task‑level assessments of AI capabilities; they do not represent a survey of Indian employers nor a hiring forecast for India.

Life‑Skills and Wellbeing

Sixteen life‑skills courses are embedded in the plans, covering communication, problem solving, presentation, public speaking, personal finance, job search and interview techniques. Lessons combine concepts, checks, reflection and refreshers. Tulika Verma, a leadership coach and former City Director at Teach For India, helped design the curriculum. Private wellbeing check‑ins allow users to reflect on direction, energy, attention and connection, supported by two‑ to three‑minute reset tools. The default daily plan takes roughly 30 minutes and can be adjusted.

Pricing and Availability

Welica 2.0 is free to download in India. Users receive three days of full access without providing card details; thereafter the first chapter of each plan remains free. Full access (Welica Premium) costs ₹99 per month or ₹799 per year.

Founder’s Statement

Founder Aroop Kumar said that students today engage in extra courses, hackathons and side projects but lack a way to choose the right path. He emphasized that the app shows evidence for each role, explains AI’s effect, and provides a step‑by‑step plan, while noting that Welica does not predict the future or promise employment.
