On July 9, 2026, a curtain‑raiser and press conference for the Maitri Cultural Economy Samiti (MCES) – West Bengal Summit was held in Kolkata, West Bengal. Shri (Prof.) Ashim Kumar Ghosh, the Hon'ble Governor of Haryana, served as the chief guest and praised the initiative’s vision of uniting academicians, scientists, industry leaders, poets, thinkers, and domain experts under a single platform.
Organisers and Visionary Leaders
The summit was founded by Maitreya Dadashreeji and is organised by MaitriBodh Parivaar. Mitra Jeev, a direct disciple of the founder, emphasized that lasting national transformation begins with individual character building and described MaitriBodh Parivaar’s action‑oriented movement as one that nurtures foundational values inspired by Sanskriti and spirituality, aiming to empower citizens from children to corporates, farmers, and urban communities.
Policy and Economic Integration
Shri Gopal Krishna Agarwal, National Spokesperson for Economic Affairs of the BJP and Patron of MCES, articulated the summit’s vision to create a meaningful economic connection with West Bengal’s cultural heritage by integrating it into public‑policy frameworks and governance models.
Summit Details and Expected Participation
The main summit is scheduled for July 17 in Kolkata and is expected to attract distinguished dignitaries, policymakers, ministry representatives, industry stalwarts, academicians, cultural leaders, and spiritual visionaries from across India. The collective agenda is to deliberate on strengthening West Bengal’s cultural economy and shaping a future where heritage and development progress hand in hand.
