Westlife Foodworld Ltd., which owns and operates McDonald's India restaurants across West and South India, has unveiled a new brand campaign titled 'Let's Family at McD'. This campaign marks the 30th anniversary of McDonald's operations in India this year.

The campaign is anchored in a vibrant brand anthem written by renowned writer and lyricist Prasoon Joshi, Chairman of Omnicom Advertising India. The campaign was conceptualized by McCann India and aims to celebrate the universal emotion of togetherness that has connected millions of customers over three decades.

Key campaign elements include:

  • Redefining "family" beyond traditional boundaries to embrace modern relationships including friends, colleagues, communities, and chosen circles
  • Positioning McDonald's as an everyday social space for informal connections
  • Drawing from familiar, everyday interactions and real lived experiences
  • Featuring a playful, culturally rooted lens through the anthem

The campaign will roll out across digital platforms and in-store experiences, supported by a strong digital-first amplification strategy. A campaign video is available on YouTube.

Management Commentary

Akshay Jatia, CEO of Westlife Foodworld, stated: "For 30 years, McDonald's India (W&S) has grown alongside the country, becoming part of everyday moments, big and small. What makes these moments special isn't the occasion, but the feeling of comfort, connection, and togetherness they bring. With 'Let's Family at McD', we are celebrating a more inclusive definition of family, one that reflects how India comes together today."

Prasoon Joshi commented: "The idea of family for us Indians has a very nuanced meaning. It's beyond a narrow definition, including people who stand by us, laugh with us, wait for us, who don't just tolerate us but accept us the way we are and make ordinary moments memorable."

Rahul Mathew, Chief Creative Officer of McCann India, added: "McDonald's has always been a space for families. But today families are more than just biological units. People who play a role in our lives or we share a passion with are all families."
