Overview
India’s total fertility rate (TFR) has fallen to 1.9, slipping below the replacement threshold of 2.1 and prompting concerns about long‑term population stability. Fertility specialists attribute the decline to delayed marriages, career priorities, lifestyle changes, rising stress levels and limited awareness of reproductive health, which together are increasing the incidence of infertility among couples.
Xenith Free Fertility Health Camp
Xenith Advanced Fertility Centre, based in Pune, announced a Free Fertility Health Camp scheduled from 15 July to 1 August 2026. The camp will be conducted at the centre’s Wakad and Koregaon Park locations. Participants will receive:
- Expert medical consultations on fertility;
- Comprehensive fertility assessments;
- Diagnostic guidance tailored to individual needs;
- Complimentary semen analysis for male partners.
The initiative aims to break the social stigma surrounding infertility, educate couples on the importance of timely family‑planning, and motivate them to seek professional advice without hesitation. Information about the camp can be accessed via the centre’s website www.xenithivf.com and its Instagram page www.instagram.com/xenithivf.
Leadership and Expertise
The camp is organized under the guidance of Dr. Mamata Dighe, Founder and Director of Xenith Advanced Fertility Centre. Dr. Dighe has been practising medicine since 1992, accumulating over 28 years of experience in infertility management and in‑vitro fertilisation (IVF). She established the IVF department at Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital in Pune and is among India’s first board‑certified specialists in Reproductive Medicine.
Clinical Insights
Dr. Dighe highlighted that many couples postpone parenthood to pursue higher education, career advancement or financial stability, yet fertility naturally declines with age—particularly for women after 30 years, and more sharply after 35 years. She emphasized that early fertility evaluation and pre‑conception counselling can enable informed decisions and improve the likelihood of a healthy pregnancy.
Advances in IVF
According to Dr. Dighe, the past two decades have witnessed remarkable advances in IVF and reproductive medicine, enabling successful pregnancies in complex cases such as PCOS, endometriosis, recurrent pregnancy loss, male infertility, and advanced maternal age. She stressed that IVF should not be viewed as a last‑resort option but as a scientifically proven, safe and highly effective treatment when recommended at the appropriate time by experienced specialists.
Objective of the Initiative
Through this awareness drive, Xenith seeks to foster open conversations about infertility, enhance reproductive‑health awareness across Pune and Pimpri‑Chinchwad, and encourage couples to take proactive steps toward parenthood.
