Overview

Xobin released its Human vs AI Skills Report: 2026 Mid‑Year Edition, authored by Founder and CEO Guruprakash Sivabalan. The study, covering data up to 30 June 2026, analyses 683 skill groups, 113 leadership scorecards from 92 employers, and thousands of technical assessment requests.

Core Finding – AI Delegability

The report finds that 72 % of the skill groups in Xobin’s 2024 hiring framework are fully or partially delegable to at least one AI model (OpenAI or Anthropic). Delegability is highest for analytical reasoning, ranging from 90 % to 100 %, and lowest for operations and execution at 28 %, with leadership skills falling below the 50 % threshold. Partial delegation still requires a human to frame the task, review outputs and manage exceptions; the study does not quantify jobs eliminated.

Leadership Scorecards

Analysis of 113 leadership scorecard templates from 92 employers shows emotional‑intelligence (EQ) criteria receive an average weight of 52 % of the total scorecard, compared with 48 % for all other criteria combined, making EQ the leading factor in formal leadership assessments.

Technical Role Priorities

Among 35 technical roles examined, business‑to‑technical translation is requested by 10‑19 roles, placing it in the top five required skills, behind AI integration/automation and analytical problem‑solving, each cited by 30‑35 roles.

Shift in Coding Assessment Formats

Traditional AI‑free coding tests dropped from representing 75‑100 % of technical assessment requests in the January‑June 2024 period to 25‑50 % in the January‑June 2026 period. Conversely, AI‑assisted tasks such as code generation, testing, debugging and explanation rose from under 25 % to between 50 % and 75 % of requests.

Emerging Skill Groups

In a set of 24 emerging skill groups, collaboration appears in 12‑17 groups in 2026, up from only four groups in 2024. Non‑linear thinking is now present in 6‑11 groups, compared with 0‑5 groups two years earlier.

Methodology

The report combines five independent analyses: (1) AI‑delegability review of 683 skill groups against OpenAI and Anthropic models; (2) review of 113 leadership scorecards from 92 employers; (3) frequency analysis across 35 technical roles; (4) matched comparison of technical assessment types between 2024 and 2026; and (5) matched two‑period comparison of 24 emerging skill groups. The five units are not merged into a single sample.
